Natalia in the youngest daughter born to Mary and Reinhart Schick. Alex emigrated from Russia with his sister when he was 17 years old. Lydia was married to Dan Pien and they had one child at the time. There is no other background information on Alex.
Natalia and Alex farmed four miles west of Burstall, then bought a farm two miles southeast of Burstall, lived there during the depression years and where the youngest child was born. Alex drilled wells for water to earn extra income to support the family.
In 1937 they moved to the Town of Burstall where Alex delivered the mail between Burstall and Leader twice weekly. In 1949 they retired and moved to Medicine Hat. In 1977 they moved into the Sunnyside Nursing Home where they passed away.
At the time of their deaths, they were survived by their three children, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
