The Brunner Family Tree
- Notes -

Henry and Irene Brunner

Henry is the eldest son born to Heinrich and O'Tillie Brunner. No background information is recorded for Irene.

Henry served overseas during WWII as a sniper whereupon he was wounded by shrapnel and returned to Canada. While in the army hospital it was discovered he had tuberculosis and he was transferred to the sanitarium at Port Arthur, Ontario. Irene was one of his nurses.

Henry and Irene got married after his discharge. She had a son from a previous marriage who still resides in Atikokan.

Irene died from tuberculosis which she contacted during her employment at the sanitarium. Henry continued to reside in Dryden working at a pulp mill until his retirement. He passed away in 1991 from kidney failure and is buried in Dryden, Ontario under the name Gordon Henry Brenner, a name he assumed due to problems with Revenue Canada assuming he was Heinrich Brunner Senior when he filed income tax returns.
