The Genealogy Bug Bites ....

Many years ago my Aunt Eileen gave my mother a copy of the genealogy research she had been working on of their family, the Brunners. I had taken such a keen interest in the work she had done she decided to leave me my own copy to work with. Initially I thought with my internet skills I should easily be able to dig deeper into the Brunner ancestry. How wrong I was. I have had the copy for about 6 years now and I haven't found anything she hadn't already documented. I owe so much to her for her influence and guidance.

A few years back Dad and I were going through the booklet Aunt Eileen gave us and Dad mentioned he wished someone would have done the research for his family. I promised him then I would document as much as I could and wouldn't stop until I find another branch we did not know existed. That's when the digging all started. Documenting the Pearn descendants of my parents had already been completed by Aunt Eileen so my starting point was gathering information on his brothers and sisters and their families. Dad has 2 brothers and one sister which are living and another brother that died as an infant. Finding information on my Grand Parents was relatively easy as well, I had the family to talk to who knew about their lives and some of the history. Great Uncles and Aunts were listed and documenting their families was all for the asking.

I later learned that Dad had gotten together with his brother Ed several years before to track down their Grand Parents and family members. Much of what they had found was documented in hand writing and put into an envelope Other documents were kept in several different photo albums. Dad also had a photo album that belonged to his father. Mostly filled with postcards but had a few photo's scattered throughout. All this information was priceless but had many loose ends.
