The Amy Surprise.......

On Apr. 11 2005, I received a copy of Amy's and John White marriage certificate. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it for myself.

It starts off with the grooms information. John Henry White, a 53 year old farmer of Iola born in Louisiana. The son of Alexander White and Surona Vines of Alabama. The parents are new but the rest we figured out already.

Next is the bride and here is the surprise, her full name is written Amy Beatrice Kullgren Pearn, a 47 year old spinster of Iola born in England. The daughter of William Pearn and Matilda Daw of England.

The certificate is witnessed by Edith Johnston and Ethel Brown on the 5th of Oct 1927.

I am puzzled with her use of the Kullgren name. Is it a middle name like Fredrick has or was it added later? There is no record of James using the name. Her age now makes it that she might have been born before William and Matilda's marriage or within 2 months after it.

A photo of John and Amy that was sent to Dad from the Kullgren's in California has the writing Left 17th May 1933, Zwolle, La. The last ride. A death search for Amy in LA did not return any findings. I will continue to search other the States between CA and LA.
